Loretta was born and raised in San Francisco. The vision
expressed in
her playful work was developed during her years spent as an art major,
and during her travels, as a keen observer of various artistic traditions.
Inspired by the folk art she had loved in New Mexico, in 1987 she began
to teach herself the art of woodcraft. Her paintings and woodwork have
since been exhibited throughout the North Coast. Her contemporary folk
art pieces often have a useful life, doubling as benches, boxes, shelves
or hat stands. |
